Vučić: “Jobs for around 300 workers”; “Niš has never had a lower unemployment rate”

“We will employ about 300 workers, which is very valuable for us, especially after the departure of Benetton, which came after 2009. For those 595 out of 960 people, we found jobs, because others didn’t want work but compensation,” Vučić said.

“Niš has never had a lower unemployment rate. We must continue attracting more investors,” he added.

“Look how nice it is, like in a pharmacy. This brings more money to Niš, more people working, more spending. We still have one or two older companies in textiles, labor-intensive, while the rest are mixed, capital-intensive,” Vučić said.

“Look how Niš has progressed—from an average salary of €320 to €900 today,” he emphasized.

“This is the 10th or 11th factory I’ve brought to Niš. There will be more factories. Ariston is coming at the right time, and soon we will have another investment for Niš. This is of fundamental importance for the city; such factories help build infrastructure and everything else,” Vučić said.

“We have more and more to be proud of in southern Serbia, besides the hardworking people and traditions. In all districts, there are more factories; we have built highways, and now only high-speed rail remains,” Vučić added.

“Today, our minimum wage is double the average salary during the blockade in power. We will continue working—people in Niš need not worry; there will be enough jobs for everyone. By December next year, the average salary in Niš will be €1,000. Is that enough? Not entirely, but it is three times more than it was 10 years ago,” Vučić concluded.

The company Ariston specializes in the production of cylinders, tanks, and heat pumps, and its factory is located in the “Sever 2” industrial zone.

The cornerstone was laid in July last year, and the plan is to employ 300 workers.

The company has built a 30,000-square-meter facility and invested €75 million in its construction, while the City of Niš and the Republic have so far invested around €8.2 million in the industrial zone.

It has been announced that the total planned investment will reach €13.6 million.

Vučić begins visit to Niš: Attends opening of "Ariston" factory

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, began his visit to Niš today, attending the opening of the Italian company Ariston’s factory.

Before the official opening, Vučić held a meeting with the factory’s management immediately upon arrival, after which he toured the new facility. The ceremonial opening is attended by the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, Niš Mayor Dragoslav Pavlović, and the company’s leadership.

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, speaking to TV Prva from Niš, said that today is a big day for this part of Serbia and announced the opening of two factories—Italian Ariston and Austrian Palfinger—emphasizing that the openings are very important for the country’s overall economy.

• 12:00 – Ceremonial opening of the Ariston Climate Solutions factory, producing cylinders, tanks, and heat pumps.

• 13:15 – Tour of the final works at the CTPark logistics and industrial park.

• 15:00 – Visit to the production facility of Palfinger, manufacturing steel components and subassemblies for a wide range of cranes from the company’s production program.
