BELGRADE President Tomislav Nikolic said on Tuesday that Serbia was committed to reaching a just and sustainable solution to the Kosovo and Metohija issue. This should happen through talks with representatives of Pristina's interim institutions, he said during his meeting in Belgrade with Macedonian Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski. "Serbia committed to finding solution through dialogue" Nikolic informed the Macedonian delegation about positions and proposals Serbia has prepared for the eighth round of negotiations on a solution to the problem of Serbia's southern province that began in Brussels on Tuesday, the presidential press service said in a statement. Veljanoski voiced his hope that both Serbia and Macedonia will get a date for the start of EU accession talks in June, because both countries have done a lot on their EU paths and deserve to become full-fledged members of the union. In a friendly conversation, the two officials expressed a sincere desire to elevate the cooperation between Serbia and Macedonia to a higher level, the statement said. Nikolic pointed out that Serbia and Macedonia can resolve all possible problems in mutual relations jointly, including the one between their churches. Veljanoski voiced satisfaction with Serbia's attitude towards the Macedonian national minority which has its own representatives in the institutions of the system, including the parliament.
