EULEX confirms "local customs at crossings"
An EULEX spokesman has confirmed on Friday that the EU mission in Kosovo "has taken over the administrative crossings in northern Kosovo".

An EULEX spokesman has confirmed on Friday that the EU mission in Kosovo "has taken over the administrative crossings in northern Kosovo". Nicholas Hawton said that "local officers, both Serbs and (ethnic) Albanians", were also at the crossings with members of the EULEX police. EULEX confirms "local customs at crossings" He added that "only EULEX members were operational". Two members of the Kosovo police and one Kosovo customs official have been at the Brnjak administrative crossing near Zubin Potok since Friday morning, Hawton said. The situation is the same at the Jarinje checkpoint near Leposavic. Hawton specified that "both Serbs and Albanians are among the local customs and border police officers at the crossings". He said their presence was "symbolic", and stated that "EULEX is doing the operation part of the job at the crossings". Meanwhile both checkpoints on the administrative line remain blocked.
