Social workers allegedly abused elderly woman

A married couple from Belgrade have been accused of abusing a 81 year old woman. The suspected couple work in the Belgrade Social Services Center and had signed a contract with the old woman for life-long care. They are accused of a misuse of position and misuse of trust. However, the injuries were never reported to the police. Court experts have yet to determine if the women is suffering from dementia. The Labor Ministry has filed charges which against a number of people in the developing case. The elderly woman was released from the original nursing home in poor physical and mental health and transferred to another one, where she is slowly recovering. B92 was not able to talk to the woman because permission was not granted by her current caretaker, who also works for the Social Services Center and stated that the woman is not well enough to speak to reporters.
