Self-Determination leader ordered house arrest
Kurti was arrested on February 10 following Priština riots staged by the ethnic-Albanian Self-Determination Movement, in which two demonstrators were killed after UN police fired rubber bullets as the group's supporters tried to break through a police barricade to reach a government building in Priština.Albin Kurti is under investigation but has not yet been charged.
A recent investigation report compiled by a UN prosecutor concluded that Romanian police officers serving with the UN were responsible for two deaths of ethnic Albanian protesters.
Kurti and his group opposed a proposal drafted by the UN envoy Martti Ahtisaari, saying it falls short of granting the province full independence by limiting Kosovo's sovereignty.
