The meeting covered the situation in the army, the system of education and peacekeeping missions in which members of Serbian Army are participating, Nikolić's office said in a statement.

The talks also covered "the forthcoming military exercises with the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the U.S. and several Balkan countries during which Serbia will demonstrate its commitment to the policy of military neutrality."

Serbia has demonstrated "a high degree of professionalism and training in a number of peacekeeping operations worldwide and members of the Army of the Republic of Serbia have set high standards in actions conducted by peacekeeping troops," said the statement.
