“Unrealistic exchange rates”

He said that Serbian economy would be in more favorable position in case of readjusted and realistic exchange rates, adding that other factors also affect business activates, including shadow economy and the degree of implementation of required production standards.

“Shadow economy is particularly dangerous,” Đuričin says.

“Certain goods still reach domestic markets through various “underground” channels, evading 18 percent value added taxation, which lowers their price and affects regular business activity,” he argued.
