“Three developmental institutions needed”

Serbian businessman Toplica Spasojevic said that three separate developmental institutions need to be formed in Serbia. He proposes that a fund for development should be founded, along with an agency for organizing and financing development, and a developmental bank for recapitalization with EUR 500mn each, in order to enable development and a more speedy recovery from the economic crisis. “Three developmental institutions needed” Spasojevic said that these three institutions should support the reindustrialization of Serbia, help with the development of the agriculture, energy, and construction sectors, and the information industry, especially in the coming several years. He said that Serbia must position itself as soon as possible on the world market in the new economic reality, adding that the state must show that it is listening more to the suggestions of the private sector, which is made up of about 300,000 companies. Spasojevic said that the private sector is asking for and suggesting a different model of development from the current one, which includes less involvement of the state in economic trends.
