Albin Kurti is looking for a reward for the referendum?! Pristina expects that Brussels will lift sanctions

Serbs from the north of Kosovo and Metohija heeded the call of their political representatives, primarily Serb List, and did not participate in yet another simulation of democratic processes directed by Albin Kurti.According to the data of the Central Election Commission in Pristina, a total of 253 citizens voted in the referendum in all four municipalities in the north of the so-called Kosovo, out of 46,556 registered in the ballot list. 111 voters voted in Kosovska Mitrovica, 18 in Zubin Potok, 124 in Leposavic, while no one voted in Zvečan.Also on Sunday, special forces armed to the teeth cruised around the north, polling stations were scattered, containers were seen again, the process was controlled by Albanians, and cameras were installed at the polling stations.Such an obvious collapse of the whole process, however, does not worry Pristina at all. On the contrary, as soon as the voting was over, Kurti and the president of the temporary institutions of Pristina, Vjosa Osmani, demanded an award from Brussels, that is, that sanctions are lifted against the so-called Kosovo.Those punitive measures, announced as one of the mechanisms for calming tensions, actually had a stimulating effect on the Pristina regime, which did not for a single moment give up the persecution of our people. The plan on &quot;paper&quot; was for Kurti to be expelled, and not a single event went by without Brussels officials sending him an invitation.The reactions of the strongest mentors of the fake state confirm that Pristina&#39;s expectations of a kind of reward for &quot;effort&quot; in organizing the referendum are not without foundation. According to their opinion, the voting took place in a democratic atmosphere, they regret the low turnout, and they blame Srpska lista for everything.Kurti and Osmani state that the people did not vote because of pressure from Belgrade and &quot;criminal structures&quot;.The Ambassador of Germany in Pristina, J&ouml;rn Rohde, assessed that those who called for a boycott got exactly what they were looking for: The boycott demanded by political actors, such as the Serb List, is regrettable and destructive when it comes to democratic culture, problem solving and concern for the real everyday life of citizens. The citizens of the four municipalities in the north do not feel that they are represented by the mayors. The Kosovo government has done its part, introducing a process that could lead to greater representation if voters used it. The US embassy in Pristina also announced that it regrets the low voter turnout: We appreciate the efforts of the Kosovo election officials to enable all citizens of Kosovo registered in the four municipalities to participate in this democratic process. We understand from international observation teams that voter turnout was extremely low. Therefore, there is no voter&#39;s decision to recall the mayor. The current mayors of the municipalities were elected and remain in office according to the legal framework of Kosovo. In addition, the American representatives in Pristina say that they regret that Srpska lista and Serbia &quot;did not fully use the democratic means available to them under Kosovo law to improve effective and representative democracy&quot;, and conclude:Voting is a key freedom in democratic societies. On the other hand, the Serb List states that the referendum showed several things that must be taken into account in the coming period, primarily by representatives of the international community: The first is that SL was deeply right when it called on the Serbian people not to participate in Kurti&#39;s play, because it was designed from the very beginning with the aim of failing. Secondly, we want to clearly reiterate that we were more than ready to participate in this process in order to see the back and replace these fake mayors in our municipalities, but we did not want to play games directed by the Pristina regime that would make the whole process meaningless and prevent the replacement of Kurti&#39;s puppets, and then they would present it as some kind of legitimacy.As they point out, Sunday showed what democracy looks like under Kurti, with long burrels, special forces and armored vehicles at polling stations, cameras recording voters and how they cast their ballots, election boards without Serbs: It showed a high degree of unity of the Serbian people, who remained true to themselves, but also provided proof that it is not SL and Serbia that intimidate the Serbs, but Kurti and his illegal parapolice units, which resulted in empty streets in the north of Kosovo.The performance on Sunday, by the way, is only the epilogue of months of harassment to which the Serbs and their political representatives were exposed, determined to remove the illegal Albanian mayors from the leading positions of the municipalities in the north.A whole labyrinth of regulations was invented, a petition was signed, the uncertainty surrounding the verification of signatures was directed, all in order to ask the voters a question - &quot;for&quot; or &quot;against&quot;.Those &quot;mayors&quot; took office after winning a few dozen votes in elections that were boycotted by the Serbs. Although both Kurti and Osmani and their western partners are silent about it, Sunday&#39;s &quot;democratic&quot; referendum showed that no one will want these municipal leaders, because otherwise the ballot boxes would be full of those who would vote against their removal.
