“In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz has been declared fully open for the remaining duration of the ceasefire, along a coordinated route previously announced by the Ports and Maritime Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on X. U.S. President Donald Trump welcomed Iran’s announcement that the Strait of Hormuz will be open to navigation during the ceasefire.Trump thanked Iran on his Truth Social platform, stating that the strategically important waterway is “fully open and ready for full transit.”At the same time, he stressed that the naval blockade will remain in place with regard to Iran until, as he said, a complete agreement between the two sides is reached.“The Strait of Hormuz is fully open and ready for business and full transit, but the naval blockade will remain in full force with respect to Iran until our agreement is 100 percent completed. This process should move very quickly, as most points have already been agreed,” Trump said.
