Vučić awarded work contracts to the best graduates: "Thank the state that invests so much money in healthcare"

The reception began with the playing of the Serbian national anthem, &quot;Bože pravde.&quot;100 of the best young doctors from the universities of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Ni&scaron;, Pri&scaron;tina, and Kragujevac were present at the reception. In addition to them, young technicians and nurses were also present.The contracts are being awarded as part of the employment program for the most successful graduates of medical faculties and secondary medical schools, which the Ministry of Health launched in 2018.The gathering was addressed by the Dean of the Medical Faculty in Kragujevac, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Janjić, who stated that today&rsquo;s event is the result of a systematic and planned process.&quot;Today&rsquo;s ceremony goes beyond academic boundaries. It shows the political will to provide young people with a clear development perspective. Dear graduates, today you are not just receiving a job&mdash;you are becoming part of the state system,&quot; he said.Following this, Aleksandar Vučić handed out work contracts to the top graduates. Among them were Sofija Gli&scaron;ić, Filip Bjeković, Kristina Savić, Ivana Ko&scaron;trbić, Martin Bačević, Danica Milenković, Petar Gogić, Luka Matijenk, Ana Andjelković, and Damjan Ćirć, who are among the best medical graduates in Serbia.Dr. Ana Andjelković then addressed the attendees:&quot;It is a great honor and responsibility to stand here today. We are beginning a new and extremely important chapter in our professional journey. I am not standing here as an individual, but as a representative of a generation that proves perseverance pays off,&quot; she said, adding: &quot;Thank you to the President and the state for the opportunity you are giving us. The path to this day has not been easy: years of studying, sacrifices, night shifts, and personal struggles have shaped us as people and doctors. That is why we experience this moment with special gratitude. Thank you for this great honor.&quot;Vučić then addressed the attendees:&quot;This is the sixth or seventh time we are participating in such events, and through this initiative, we have employed around 5,000 people,&quot; he said at the beginning, adding that these young people should not be thanking him or the Minister of Health, but the state.&quot;The state has decided to invest enormous amounts in healthcare&mdash;these are figures you do not learn about at universities and schools. This is not two or three billion, but nearly five billion, almost 20 percent of our budget,&quot; he explained.He said that, as someone who had been a scholarship recipient, he had learned a lot.&quot;For you, real and true life begins today. Until now, you have been the children of your hardworking parents, who gave everything for your education, studied with you, and showed exceptional seriousness and responsibility, and we, as a state, are grateful to them for that,&quot; he told the graduates.&quot;In total, we have renovated and built 150 facilities in a year and a half. But that is not the essence. Today, when we enter the Clinical Center, which looks like a spaceship, the question is whether it will welcome you as someone dear, and not just as someone passing through a workday,&quot; Vučić said, adding that he hopes they will be like the majority of doctors.&quot;You know better than I do&mdash;Robert Koch said that a doctor who stops learning after becoming a doctor is not really a doctor. The state will continue to increase healthcare workers&rsquo; salaries, and that is not simple,&quot; he explained, adding: &quot;You will notice that it is always easy to be against something. Don&rsquo;t pay attention to that. You will deserve many state honors and to earn much more.&quot;&quot;You are here because you were the most diligent and the best. I wish you much success, to care for patients, and to protect Serbia,&quot; Vučić told them at the end of his address, wishing them luck in their future work.
