According to the report, NATO command is considering the possibility of shooting down Russian fighter jets. The NATO Chief of Forces in Europe, Alexus Grinkevich, proposed creating a unified air defense system to eliminate “national excuses,” meaning the restrictions some member states impose on the use of their military equipment.“We still have some of these national restrictions, and they limit us. They reduce our effectiveness,” said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The issue of new rules and conditions for the use of force is scheduled to be discussed at a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels today. In addition, the ministers will discuss reducing military aid to Ukraine.According to Russian portal Sputnik, data from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy show that weapons and ammunition deliveries in July and August fell by 43 percent compared to the first half of the year.Earlier, Estonia reported that Russian aircraft violated its airspace. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that on September 19, three MiG-31 fighter jets conducted a planned flight from Karelia to an airfield in the Kaliningrad region. The flight was carried out in strict compliance with international airspace rules, without violating the borders of other states, which was confirmed by objective monitoring systems.During the flight, the Russian planes did not deviate from the agreed air route and did not violate Estonian airspace, Moscow claims. The flight path passed over neutral waters of the Baltic Sea at a distance of more than three kilometers from the island of Vormsi.
