The new heat wave that is expected this week will be most pronounced in the south and east of Serbia, in a continuous period from today to Saturday with maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees, and on Friday locally up to 42 degrees with increased southwest wind. In the same period, in the north and west of Serbia, today will be the hottest day, the temperature will then drop slightly on Tuesday and Wednesday, and rise again from Thursday, announced the State Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ).The heat wave in the coming days will further contribute to the increase in the risk of starting and spreading fires in the open air, warns RHMZ.In the Belgrade area, the hottest days, after today, will be Thursday and Friday with maximum temperatures in the range of 35 to 39 degrees.Printskrin/RHMZ  The Republic's hydrometeorological alarm announced that today a red weather alert is in effect throughout the country due to high temperatures.The red weather alarm indicates that the weather is very dangerous and particularly dangerous weather phenomena are forecast, of such intensity that it can cause great material damage and be very dangerous for the safety of people and animals.RHMZ states that it is necessary to be frequently informed about the details of the expected meteorological conditions and risks, as well as that it is necessary to follow the orders and advice of the competent state services.Also, the UV index in the territories of Serbia today is very high, and its value is the highest in Sjenica and its value amounts to 10, and in the rest of the country its value is eight and nine, while in Belgrade the UV index is 8.The UV (ultraviolet) index is an international standard for measuring the sun's activity for ultraviolet light, which can be very harmful to humans and can have a very strong effect on sensitive skin.Let us remind you that yesterday the citizens of Serbia received an SMS message from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in which they warn of a strong and long-lasting heat wave."A warning has been issued for a strong and long-lasting heat wave. It is recommended that you reduce your time outdoors and get informed regularly," it was stated in the message sent to the citizens by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
