Lajcak, the EU's Special Representative for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, announced last night on X platform that he met with O'Brien, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, without giving details.

"It is always a pleasure to host Jim O'Brien in Brussels. We discussed the development of events in the Western Balkans and our expectations for the coming period," said Lajcak.

Lajcak should soon leave the position of EU special representative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and other regional issues of the Western Balkans, and who will succeed him will be known after the formation of the new European Commission.
