Macron at an all-time low

This was shown by a survey jointly conducted by the public opinion research institute Odoxa and consulting firm Mascaret for the French parliamentary television channel Public Sénat and a group of 20 regional French media outlets.

According to the poll, only 18 percent of respondents consider Macron to be a good president, while 82 percent hold the opposite view, BFMTV reported.

At the same time, support for Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu fell by eight percentage points, with 24 percent of respondents viewing him as a good prime minister. The survey was conducted amid public concern over rising fuel prices.

As many as 75 percent of respondents said they supported expanding assistance for citizens who rely heavily on cars, while 62 percent believe that, despite the high budget deficit, the government should allocate more money to this area.

The survey was conducted before Macron’s televised address on TF1 and France 2, in which he discussed measures related to fuel prices.

Among the political figures being mentioned in connection with the next presidential campaign, 35 percent of respondents said they support or sympathize with National Rally (RN) leaders Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella, down four and five percentage points, respectively.

Former Prime Minister and center-right presidential candidate Édouard Philippe had 27 percent support, François Hollande 22 percent, while center-left candidate Raphaël Glucksmann was supported by 20 percent of voters. The survey was conducted online.
