Attack foiled in Slovakia: Three foreigners targeted drone factory; Incendiary material found?
Slovak police foiled a contract attack on a drone manufacturing facility in the eastern part of the country and arrested three foreign nationals. An incendiary mixture resembling napalm was reportedly found in the suspects’ possession.
A statement posted by the Slovak police on Facebook said that the attack had been commissioned and that the target was a facility where drones are manufactured.
“At the time the attack was due to be carried out, around 70 employees were inside the facility, while the value of the property in the production hall was estimated at tens of millions of euros,” the statement said.
Two suspects were arrested in Slovakia, while the third was arrested by German authorities on the basis of a European arrest warrant that was issued within a short period of time.
Members of the Slovak Organized Crime Combat Unit (UBOK), working with intelligence services, seized a large quantity of incendiary material, as well as tools, mobile phones, an action camera and a hand-drawn plan of the facility during the operation.
