The missile is approximately 9.5 meters long and 1.1 meters in diameter, making it larger than the Russian 9M723 ballistic missile used by the Iskander system, Censor.net reported.

It should be noted that ballistic missiles are much harder to intercept than cruise missiles, mainly due to their high speed.

Analysts have often pointed out that having larger numbers of available ballistic systems could give Ukraine the ability to carry out a type of strike it has not previously conducted.

It has not yet been confirmed whether the released footage shows the launch of the FP-9 missile or another Ukrainian project.
