The end of the war has been set for April 9

According to the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, an unnamed Israeli official said that “Washington has set April 9 as the target date to end the war, leaving roughly 21 days for continued fighting and negotiations.”

The same source added that “talks between Iran and the United States are expected later this week in Pakistan,” noting that Washington has not informed Israel of the details of its contacts with the Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Iran denies talks with the U.S.

The newspaper also cited Israeli assessments that the United States is already conducting indirect talks with Ghalibaf, following statements by the U.S. president about contacts with Iran aimed at ending the war. However, Ghalibaf said there have been no talks with the United States, dismissing the reports as “fake news” intended to manipulate financial and oil markets.

U.S. President Donald Trump earlier on Monday said he had ordered a five-day postponement of all strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure, citing “very good and productive” discussions with Tehran over the past two days as the reason.

Regional escalation has continued since the U.S. and Israel launched a joint offensive against Iran on February 28, killing more than 1,340 people, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile attacks on Israel, as well as on Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting U.S. military facilities, causing casualties, damage to infrastructure, and disruptions to global markets and air traffic.
