Hungary sounds the alarm: "We are under attack"; Orban 'rages'

Speaking to Hungarian Kossuth Rádió, he explained that the system introduced in 2015 is based on allowing entry only to people who were previously granted permission in the West; they let them in, and then they remain in those countries regardless of the decision on their residence application, MTI reported.

Orban also said that the Hungarian system, which was overwhelmed during the previous migration wave in 2015, is ‘under attack’.

‘Brussels is working to force us to follow the wrong Western European migration policy. Hungary’s security is the priority; I want to prevent terrorist acts and rising crime. And I definitely do not want the number of migrants to grow to the point where they take our land,’ Orban said.

It should be noted that EU media have already reported that official Brussels has raised a ‘migration alarm’ due to the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, noting that the EU is unprepared for a new, even larger wave of refugees.

EU Migration Commissioner Magnus Brunner already spoke earlier this week with the Turkish Foreign Minister about the refugee situation, while official Ankara has already increased controls at its border crossings with Iran.

Greece also intends to strengthen border controls with Turkey.
