Total collapse of the Ukrainian army: They were captured; "No water, no ammunition, there was no way out"

A group of Russian forces from the “Center” unit captured several members of the 68th Separate Jäger Brigade of the Ukrainian army, who were encircled in Krasnoarmiysk (Pokrovsk), the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

Ukrainian soldiers surrendered after seven days without food and water.

According to the Ministry, the Ukrainian soldiers voluntarily surrendered because their command had abandoned them, and they could no longer endure the continuous artillery and drone strikes.

“Around us lie numerous wounded and dead. There’s nowhere to go. Seven days without food. No water, no ammunition. In basements, in dugouts—wherever we could, we hid. There was no way out, almost everywhere,” said captured Ukrainian soldier Gennadiy Chernadchuk.

The Ministry added that the soldiers went without adequate food for four to seven days, surviving on whatever they could find in abandoned basements, as supplies were not delivered to them, not even by drones.

While one group of Ukrainian soldiers was negotiating surrender, their comrades attempted to break the encirclement, but they disappeared during the attempt and have not been heard from since.

Critical conditions among the wounded

According to the captives themselves, the number of wounded in the city increases daily, but they cannot receive aid due to a lack of medicine and medical supplies.

The Ministry states that the situation for Ukrainian forces has become critical, and they have no chance of survival other than voluntary surrender.

Encirclement of Kupiansk and Krasnoarmiysk

By the end of October, the “West” group took control of the crossing over the Oskil River, thereby encircling Kupiansk, where an estimated five thousand Ukrainian soldiers are located.

At the same time, the “Center” forces completed the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Krasnoarmiysk and Dmytrivka areas, and Moscow is calling on the remaining soldiers to surrender.

Kupiansk is one of the key cities for Ukraine’s defense of the eastern Kharkiv region, and its capture, Russian sources say, would allow forces to cross the Oskil River and begin further advancement to the west.

Strategic significance of Krasnoarmiysk and Dmytrivka

The cities of Dmytrivka and Krasnoarmiysk form a single urban agglomeration and serve as an important transportation hub for the Ukrainian army in Donbas.

Most supply lines and reinforcement routes to Chasiv Yar and Kostiantynivka, as well as ammunition deliveries to Selydove, passed through this region.

According to Russian military sources, Krasnoarmiysk was the cornerstone of Ukrainian defense across this part of the front in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

Moscow: Zelensky is hiding the real situation or has lost touch with reality

In Moscow, it is believed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is either trying to hide the true situation at the front, claiming that Ukrainian forces have “cleared” these areas, or has, as the statement puts it, “completely lost touch with reality.”
