Orbán provokes again: "Brussels stole the European dream and turned it into a nightmare"
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said today that election victory of the President of the United States of America Donald Trump and the defeat of the liberals are "like a dream", but that this dream of the Europeans "was stolen and derailed by Brussels".
In his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest, Orbán said that Europeans do not feel safe in their own countries, while European companies are failing, and he called the Green Deal a "parody", MTI reported.
"Europe should now negotiate with a political heavyweight from the USA, but it seems that there are only light-weight leaders among European leaders," Orbán said.
He added that European freedom has disappeared and that there is a "sharp struggle for power", citing the examples of the former leader of the French National Rally (RN) party Marine Le Pen and the leader of the League party, Matteo Salvini.
"Everything is collapsing. Changes are necessary, it cannot continue like this," Orbán concluded.
