The top US general overseeing military operations in Europe has warned US lawmakers that the war in Ukraine has reached a decisive moment, with Russia expected to have a 10-1 advantage in shells and artillery "within weeks".

The only thing that can prevent that scenario is if the US approves additional military support for the government in Kyiv.

"The gravity of this moment cannot be overstated," Gen. Christopher Cavoli said in testimony before the House Armed Services Committee. ''Ukraine will run out of shells and anti-aircraft missiles without additional US support'', Cavoli concluded.
