Calculations have already started: Here's what awaits Serbia in the EuroBasket knockout phase - two options

The basketball team of Serbia without any major problems secured a place in the knockout phase of the European Championship, confirming expectations with a convincing victory over the Czech Republic - 82:60.

The Eagles now have a score of 4-0, and the final position in the group will be decided by the duel of the last round against Turkey.

The triumph over the Czechs, although convincing, had practically no result weight for Svetislav Pešić's team.

Even in case of defeat, Serbia would maintain the identical situation in the table - everything depends on the outcome of the clash with Turkey, because the winner of that match will take the first place in group A.

This means that the leader of the group will cross spears in the round of 16 with the fourth-placed from group B, which is played in Tampere, and which includes Germany, Lithuania, Finland, Montenegro, Sweden and Great Britain.

If Serbia defeats Turkey, and Montenegro defeats Great Britain, in the round of 16 we would see a Balkan derby - Serbia against Montenegro.

The winner would then go to the better one from the duel D2 - C3 in the quarter-finals, which further complicates the situation because both groups C and D offer surprises.

If Turkey defeats Serbia, the "eagles" would most likely play against Finland, and France would be waiting for them in the potential quarter-finals.

However, after Israel's shocking triumph over the French, nothing is certain in Katowice either.

For now, the only thing that is certain is that Pešić's team has only Turkey in mind and the derby scheduled for Wednesday evening - a duel that will determine Serbia's path in the elimination phase.
