Snow has also fallen in Ivanjica, leaving roads paralyzed, while residents of some villages are forced to use off-road vehicles to reach their homes.

As seen in a video published early this morning by RINA, Mount Mučanj is "locked in" by snow, with branches weighed down to the road, making traffic difficult.

“Incredible footage of snow under Mount Mučanj, Ivanjica. Residents of the village of Maskova are forced to break through to their homes with off-road vehicles,” RINA reported.

Snow caused more chaos in Ivanjica overnight

On the main road Ivanjica–Sjenica, trees fell onto the roadway under the weight of the snow. In addition, ongoing rehabilitation works on the road further complicated traffic.

“We appeal to drivers to travel only with winter equipment and with increased caution. Drive slowly and without haste – safety comes first,” officials said yesterday.

As seen in videos posted on the Instagram page info_liga_mediatim, citizens worked through the night to remove fallen trees and clear the road. Drivers are advised to exercise maximum caution and postpone travel unless absolutely necessary.

The road toward Kušići is covered with snow, slippery, and difficult to drive on.

Precipitation is expected today as well

Yesterday, snow on Serbia’s mountains caught many people unprepared at the very beginning of October, and more than half a meter of snowfall is expected today in the southern parts of the Morava, Raška, and Rasina districts, in the mountainous areas of the Toplica and Rasina districts, as well as in Kosovo and Metohija, said meteorologist Slobodan Sovilj.

To recall, snow has been falling on Kopaonik for two days already, but yesterday other areas of the country also turned white, mostly mountain regions – Zlatar, Stara Planina, the area around Ivanjica…

By Sunday evening, a new cloud system from Central Europe is expected to reach Serbia, bringing more precipitation to the region, especially in Slovenia, the northern Adriatic, and western Croatia.
