Detention proposed for bus driver after Lipci tragedy: Girl from Niš killed, 16 passengers injured

The duty state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor has proposed that custody be ordered for M.Lj. (68) from Kotor, the bus driver involved in the serious traffic accident in the village of Lipci.

"He is suspected of committing the criminal offense of a serious violation against public traffic safety. The traffic accident occurred on July 12, when the bus driven by the suspect was involved in a crash in which passenger S. J. (21) from Niš lost her life," the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor confirmed to RINA.

Another 16 passengers were injured in the accident, suffering physical injuries.

The decision on whether to order detention will be made by the competent court.
