Bulgaria has elected a government, Radev becomes prime minister
The Parliament of Bulgaria has today elected a government headed by Prime Minister Rumen Radev.
The cabinet was adopted with 122 votes “in favor”, 70 “against”, and 36 abstentions, according to BTA.
The Council of Ministers consists of the prime minister, four deputy prime ministers, and 18 ministers.
The deputy prime minister and minister of finance is Galab Spasov Donev.
The deputy prime minister and minister of economy, investment, and industry is Alexander Georgiev Pulev.
The foreign minister will be Velislava Nikolayeva Petrova-Chamova.
According to BTA, “Progressive Bulgaria” voted in favor of the government, GERB–SDS abstained, while DPS, “Democratic Bulgaria”, “We Continue the Change”, and “Revival” voted against.
The same applied to the vote on the structure of the cabinet.
After the results were announced, the Speaker of the National Assembly Mihayela Docova congratulated the newly elected government and wished success to the Council of Ministers.
Members of the new regular government then took their oath before the parliament.
