The verdict against Milorad Dodik confirmed

"Dodik was found guilty that from July 1 to July 9, 2023, in Banja Luka, knowingly and knowing that High Representative Christian Schmidt made a decision preventing the entry into force of the Law on non-application of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina from July 1 of the same year, as well as the decision preventing the entry into force of the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Publication of Laws and Other Regulations of the RS, he undertook actions with the aim of continuing the legislative procedure, without implementing the decisions of the High representative", that portal writes. 

After the first-instance verdict, Dodik "set out to destroy the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina by passing laws in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska that nullified the work of the SIPA, the Supreme Court of Justice, the Court and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH. This led to the request that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina initiate an investigation into his alleged violation of the constitutional order. Three months later, Dodik agreed to appear before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina."

The news was confirmed for RTRS by the lawyer of the president of Srpska, Goran Bubić.

Bubić said that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina informed by telephone that the appeals of both the defense and the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina were rejected and that the first-instance verdict was confirmed in its entirety.

Dodik was sentenced by the first-instance verdict to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity, for disobeying Christian Schmidt's decisions.
