First meeting of the Operational Team for Serbia's accession to the European Union scheduled
The first meeting of Operational Team for Serbia’s accession to European Union will be held tomorrow and it will be chaired by Ambassador and Head of the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the EU, as well as head of the Operational Team, Danijel Apostolović.
The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the Government of Serbia, and will be attended by the President of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić, Minister for European Integration, Chief Negotiator and National Coordinator of the Instrument for Reforms and Growth Nemanja Starović, and Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić.
Also attending will be Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamočić, Presidential Advisor for Foreign Policy Tatjana Jović, Prime Minister’s Advisor for Foreign Policy Nemanja Diković, and Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petković, the Serbian Government announced.
On January 26, the Government of Serbia decided to establish an operational team whose role will be to coordinate the accelerated implementation of all obligations on Serbia’s European path, composed of representatives from the highest levels of government.
The formation of the operational team was proposed by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić at a thematic session of the Government of Serbia held on January 25.
Vučić proposed the Head of the Serbian Mission to the EU in Brussels, Danijel Apostolović, as the chair of the operational team.
The task of the operational team will be to provide strategic guidance, political coordination, and timely resolution of issues of particular importance for progress in the accession process.
