Vučić: "Serbia is a neutral country; We will preserve our traditional friendships, without entering any war"

During his speech at the panel, Vučić emphasized that he did not want to respond to attacks regarding threats of war from the region, nor to lies about the “Sarajevo safari” and other falsehoods.

“I avoided speaking about this because we did not need tensions. But today, that is no longer the case. Today, a strategy is made, like the one at the White House, but no one analyzes it. No one looks at it seriously, and instead the other side meets elsewhere and issues a contradictory statement,” Vučić said.

He stressed that he hopes a major war will not occur and that he is wrong in fearing it.

“Everyone can see that the other side is preparing very thoroughly. Do you think the opponents will wait for them to prepare, modernize, and ready their army? No one will wait, especially considering that both sides know it is inevitable. This has been said by the Russians, the Germans, and many others. The Russians have been a bit more cautious in their statements, though,” Vučić noted.

“In 2022, in March, April, and May, there were hundreds of articles in Europe’s liberal media and in America claiming that Serbia was preparing to attack countries in the region, to support the Russian army, and such nonsense. And it just passed… No one apologized, no one said anything. I tell you, until April 2027, we will not participate in any war. We are on the European path, we will preserve our traditional friendships, but we will not enter any war,” Vučić stressed.
