“I am very satisfied with the results we have achieved so far. Yesterday, we signed a Joint Declaration on future cooperation, as well as several documents that will serve as a foundation for our future collaboration. I hope that, after the intergovernmental commission meets in Uzbekistan, we will have the opportunity to host President Mirziyoyev in Belgrade to further strengthen our cooperation in all areas,” Vučić said.

During his visit to the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, he made this statement in response to a question from an Uzbek journalist about whether he was satisfied with the results of the meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and which initiatives he had proposed.

Responding to a journalist’s comment noting that he once worked as a reporter and asking how he would begin his report on Uzbekistan if he were covering the visit in that role, Vučić said he would invite his fellow citizens in Serbia to visit Uzbekistan.

“I would tell all my fellow citizens, dear people, that I made a big mistake by not visiting this country earlier. Come and see it as soon as possible,” Vučić emphasized.

Vučić, together with the Serbian delegation, visited the Center for Islamic Civilization today, and the tour was led by Rustam Jabarov, Deputy Director of the center.

The Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan is an institution under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, located within the Hazrat Imam estate complex. Construction of the complex was initiated based on a decision by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017, and the foundation was laid in 2018.

The center is still under construction, but most of it has been completed. The Center for Islamic Civilization is the largest cultural, scientific, and educational complex in Uzbekistan, encompassing a museum, research institute, libraries, international partner organizations, scientific laboratories, centers for traditional crafts, and educational departments.
