Citizens' protest in Leposavic, the police do not allow access to the Hall of Sports PHOTO/VIDEO

They gathered as a sign of protest due to, as they stated, the confiscation of an institution that for decades served for youth sports activities.

In front of the entrance to the sports facility, there are several policemen who do not allow access to the sports hall.

The workers resent the fact that yesterday Deputy Mayor Marina Bogojević told them that they can come to work and continue with sports activities, but today they are not allowed to do so because, as they say, "they have to integrate into the Kosovo system".

The workers say that they will come to work, that they cannot accept this situation because, as they say, not a single public facility can be banned anywhere in the civilized world, but "only in our country".

Those gathered expressed their dissatisfaction with yesterday's entry of the mayor of Leposavic Lulzim Hetemi and his deputy into the premises of this institution, with the assistance of members of the Kosovo Police.

On that occasion, a detailed minutes of found inventory and documentation was made, and Serbian flags were removed and replaced with Kosovo symbols.

At the entrance to the sports hall, a new board with the symbols of Kosovo was installed, while the locks on the doors were replaced. There are currently workers in front of the facility, as well as several police vehicles, and the presence of security forces has further caused concern among citizens.
