The Kremlin spoke up; Putin emphasized: External interference in political situation in Serbia is unacceptable
On the official website of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a statement was published after a telephone conversation with Serbian President Vučić, in which the support for Serbia and the inadmissibility of external interference are particularly highlighted.
The announcement states, among other things:
"The mutual commitment to the further development of the strategic partnership between Russia and Serbia, whose foundations are the spiritual, cultural and historical ties of the peoples of the two countries, was highlighted. Aleksandar Vučić confirmed that he will come to Moscow on the occasion of marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as that he will send a unit of the armed forces of Serbia that will participate in the Parade on May 9, 2025.
Numerous practical issues of further interaction in various areas, primarily in the energy sector, were discussed in detail.
Vladimir Putin emphasized the inadmissibility of external interference in the internal political situation in Serbia and expressed his support for the actions of legally elected authorities. Also, the Russian side expressed solidarity with the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
Using the opportunity, Vladimir Putin heartily congratulated the President of Serbia on his recently celebrated 55th birthday. "Further contacts at different levels were also agreed," it is stated in Kremlin statement."
