Suspect B.K., a member of the commission for the technical inspection of the works at the Railway Station in Novi Sad, was arrested last night at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport after returning from Italy, the media reports.

She was arrested by the UKP Criminal Police Department on the order of the Special Department for Suppression of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, which yesterday arrested four of her colleagues for failing in their work, which resulted in the fall of the canopy at the railway station on November 1, 2024.

As a reminder, 15 people died and two were seriously injured in the fall of the canopy.
