Bishop Teodosije: Serbs should vote in as large a number as possible
Metropolitan Teodosije of Raška-Prizren sent an appeal before the upcoming elections in Kosovo and Metohija.

We are transcribing the appeal of Metropolitan Teodosije in its entirety:
"Given that parliamentary elections are to be held in Kosovo and Metohija in three days, we consider it necessary to send a pastoral appeal to all citizens that the elections should take place in an orderly, peaceful and democratic atmosphere. For our people, who are going through very difficult times in this region, it is essential that, despite the existing differences, the citizens show unity around all our key interests.
These interests are primarily the survival of our people in this area, their security, economic progress, as well as the preservation of our sanctuaries and the entire spiritual and cultural heritage. In this regard, it is particularly important to ensure adequate and reliable health care in our communities and education based on the preservation of language, culture and all the values that have sustained us for centuries.
The church, by its very nature, cannot interfere in the will of the election, because its role has always been to unite and connect not only its believers, but also to build bridges of cooperation with all people of good will, regardless of the political conditions in which we live. That is why we deeply believe that our people in Kosovo and Metohija will know how to recognize those who enjoy the most trust, have reputation and moral integrity and who have so far contributed to the efforts and activities of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren in the protection of basic human and religious rights, as well as the sanctuaries of our Church.
Above all, it is important that the elections on Sunday, February 9, take place in peace and with human dignity, and that everyone shows their responsibility and awareness to go beyond the divisions and choose those who will best be able to represent the will of our people. In this context, it is essential that the largest number of voters who have the right to vote respond to the elections, so that in the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the Serbian people can preserve their basic interests and rights and improve the quality of life, both for current and future generations."
