Salary increased by more than 13,000 dinars from December 1: The biggest pay rise in the public sector

This also represents the largest individual pay increase announced across the entire public sector.

According to the projections presented, the new December salary for these occupations will amount to 125,687 dinars.

Converted into euros at the official exchange rate of 117.36 dinars, the salaries of these professionals will amount to approximately €1,071.

Around 13,400 dinars more in the monthly paycheck

Based on the projected December salary and the announced 12% increase, the current average salary for these positions is around 112,220 dinars.

This means that after the December payroll calculation, educators and pedagogues will receive around 13,466 dinars more per month than they do now.

The analysis also notes that the exact salary for each employee will depend on their specific position, salary base, level of education, years of service and other applicable allowances.

Salary two and a half times higher than in 2012

According to the data presented, salaries in this sector have recorded significant growth compared with 2012.

The salary for these professions in the health and social care sector amounted to 49,422 dinars in 2012, or just €437.

The projected December salary of 125,687 dinars represents a nominal increase of 76,265 dinars compared with 2012.

This means that salaries for educators, pedagogues and related professions increased by around 154.3% over the period observed, meaning they are now approximately two and a half times higher than 14 years ago.

Meanwhile, an 8% pay increase has been announced for other public-sector employees from December 1, 2026, while the goal is for the average salary in Serbia to reach €1,400 by the end of 2027.
