Milka chocolate recalled: Do not eat it
Mondelez International, the manufacturer, has announced a recall of certain batches of Milka chocolate with caramel in Germany due to the possible presence of foreign plastic objects in the product.
Mondelez International has stated that such foreign objects could pose a risk of injury, and the recall has been issued as a precautionary measure. The recall applies exclusively to 100g Milka Caramel chocolate throughout Germany, reports Fenix magazine.
Only specific batches with the EAN code 7622210349675 are affected. Consumers can identify the at-risk products by the “best before” dates and corresponding production codes.
The recalled products have the following best-before dates and production codes:
-
Dates: February 20, 21, 26, and 27, 2026
-
Codes: OSV1252132, OSV1252133, OSV1252141, OSV1252223, OSV1252231, OSV1252232, OSV1252233
Mondelez emphasized that consumer safety is their top priority and urged customers not to consume chocolate from the affected batches.
Anyone who purchased the affected Milka Caramel chocolate can return it to the retailer or contact the company for further information.
The company clarified that the recall does not affect other Milka chocolates or other Mondelez products.
The issue was identified in only a few individual cases where visible pieces of plastic were found. However, as a precaution, all potentially affected batches are being recalled.
The 100g Milka Caramel chocolate in question can be recognized by its purple packaging and caramel filling. Customers wishing to check their product should compare the “best before” date and production code printed on the packaging.
