DSS reveals platform on new cabinet

The DSS puts the platform before other additional talks on the makeup of the government.

Belgrade Daily Blic reported today, quoting government sources, that DSS and NS are wiling to sever all ties with countries that recognize Kosovo as a separate country. The same source adds that the future government should assume a clear position about further integration into NATO, if the international community imposes the solution for Kosovo on Serbia.

Beta News Agency reports that the platform regards preserving territorial integrity and sovereignty as the first constitutional obligation of the government.

The DSS-NS coalition has established principles to protect the province of Kosovo based on those articles in the Serbian Constitution that define Kosovo as a province with substantial autonomy within Serbian borders.

The platform asserts that Kosovo must represent an undeniable part of the territory of the Republic of Serbia for its government. It is also stated in the platform that ‘should any country or international organization decide to recognize Kosovo as an independent entity, the Government should inform all foreign governments that it would consider such a decision illegitimate, nil and void’. These principles are an essential prerequisite to any further discussions on the new government, the platform concludes.
