“Telenor is in a good position for future progress. We will continue to invest and bring the market together in order to enable further expansion.” Telenor President and CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas said.

Companies all around the world, which Telenor is investing its capital in, are developing at a high rate, and the market which the company holds in Norway is one of the most advances mobile communications markets in the world today.

The 100 millionth costumer was 35 year-old Laszlo Istvan from Budapest, who won a trip to Norway and free mobile telephone services for a year.

A pile of 100 million SIM cards would be as tall as nine Mount Everest’s, even though one is the size of a stamp and is 0.8 millimeters thick.

Telenor bought Serbian mobile operator Mobi 63 this June for 1.513 billion euros. The Serbian budget is 1.155 billion euros richer because of the investment.
