"You forget we were enemies in both world wars.

I'm not sure you were my enemy in any war, mate!

there was a fascist Albanian in ww2

Sure, like there was a Nazi Serb... not sure what your point is, though!
----------

You even declared war to USA.
(RighteousBilly, 12 December 2016 09:42)

I did not declare any war to USA, mate. But Yugoslavia did join the Tripartite Pact with the Nazis! So, again, I'm not sure what your point is!"

Icj1, do you have problem in understanding simple things or you just pretend? I will not comment you.

I did not ask you to comment on me, but yes what you wrote was clear (even though mostly incorrect or pointless).

"That would be an absolutely correct statement... Serbs, like Albanians, Croats, Montenegrins, Greeks, Macedonians, etc should be proud for their contribution to defeat Hitler during WW2."

You forget we were enemies in both world wars. there was a fascist Albanian in ww2. Serbian resistance in ww2 was the biggest in whole occupied Europe. What we can say about Handyar Albanians. Serb Holocaust in fascist albania. You even declared war to USA. Don't forget we were never on the same side!

Kudos to the restaurant manager.
If the cook didn't like what the restaurant was playing he could quit.
Maybe open his own joint and play "patriotic" songs all day.
I am sorry to be so blunt, but i don't see any difference between this cook and a Hollywood celebrity trying to impose to others their point of view.
To the Serbs who where "offended" by "Lili Marlene": Germans didn't invade Serbia/Yugoslavia with grammaphones nor bombed Belgrade with vinyl discs nor imprisoned Serbs in cabarets. It is an insult to the real victims of German aggression of WWII to be "offended", meaning "victimize" yourself because of a song. Please hold your tears, you'll ruin your make up.

Serbs gave most lives in the region to defeating Hitler. Our history is proud unlike others in the area!!!
(Ari Gold, 9 December 2016 20:37)

The others (expect for Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria who were on the loosing side) gave their lives to defeat Hitler, as well and are proud as well for being among the victors of WW2. Not sure why you have this desire to put everybody else down! Is that because of your complex of inferiority? If you did not have a complex of inferiority, you'd just write:

"Serbs gave their lives to defeat Hitler. Our history is proud"

That would be an absolutely correct statement... Serbs, like Albanians, Croats, Montenegrins, Greeks, Macedonians, etc should be proud for their contribution to defeat Hitler during WW2.

This moron thinks that Serbian songs about liberation is worse than Nazi songs. The cook is a hero. Serbs have always been the least tolerant in the Balkans when it comes to fascism. The reason is obvious. Serbs gave most lives in the region to defeating Hitler. Our history is proud unlike others in the area!!!

I hope the cook is able to find another job.

Not as bad as a Serbian president of the UNGA using his post to play chetnik songs in the UN.

Here are some thoughts:
1) The restaurant manager might be in trouble a bit, some people might not want to go to his restaurant anymore.

2) The cook will find it harder to get a job, given his feisty character and the tendency to make so much noise for nothing.

3) The German tourists got the most out of it. They got what Western tourists love: exotic events, adventure, drama.

Song is a strong tool to unite or divide people. The below flash mob has started in Ukraine and was kept up in Russia, Moldova, Byelorussia and Armenia. People sing Soviet songs including war songs to show that we are still one people. In Ukraine it’s the only form of protest people can afford so in a way it’s a solidarity flash mob.

Bravo for the Cook. Now he better get his job back. The restaurant owner is a jerk. That song represents a mockery of human suffering, must never be played in Serbia. Germans should be ashamed of it.

Hopefully some patriotic restaurant owners/managers need a new cook and will hire him. Also, why doesn't B92 name the restaurant manger who fired him? Let the people know how he doesn't like patriots and maybe he will be encouraged to leave for Croatia or Germany.

Lili Marlene accompanied Wehrmacht up to Stalingrad … On their way home the Germans stopped to sing but they started to think. Brave cook and good video. Serbs and Russians were singing other songs like

Двадцать второго июня
Ровно в четыре утра
Киев бомбили,
Нам объявили,
Что началася война …

P.S. The Brits sang along with us while most europeans just sucked for 70 months.
