If the announcement is coming from the province of Kosovo, then you simply cannot believe it. There have already been numerous so-called 'recognitions' that cannot be verified and usually have been implemented unilaterally from the province's 'government'. Many nations on their list have never accepted the declaration however have been placed as countries that have recognized. The problem is that many countries simply don't care and don't bother to verify whether they have been put on the list.

Trump wanted ground troops to act as peace keepers. If you look at his interview on Larry King, he says it's horrible what NATO is doing to Serbia and the damage they are causing. He felt that ground troops would have acted better as keeping the peace on both sides instead of picking to bomb on behalf of a terrorist organization such as the KLA.

Most of the Western countries have recognized RK as an independent state right and thats enough fo RK to move ahead and prosper as a country. I do belive RK diplomata and most of polical cast are complete nubs that are full on corruption amd dont give a shit about their own country anymore. Anyway it wont matter much anymore how many new countries will recognize Republic of Kosava but what matters is WHEN Russia as a permanent member of the UN security council WILL accept the RK Independence. Actually, Suriname recognized Kosova in July this year, but I'll take two recognitions a year considering that at least 110 UN countries recognize Kosova. Also Kosova and Northern Cyprus control their countries, Palestine doesn't. Israel is able to build where ever it wants in Palestine. Can Serbia or Southern Cyprus build or control what goes on in Kosova or Northern Cyprus? No they cannot. So yes, Palestine might have slightly more recognition than Kosova but it cannot exercise its authority like Kosova. Kosova is in a much better situation than Palestine.

Either way, I will take partial recognition given the strong Western lobbying you ha(d)ve. That is the only reason why you have as many countries as you do. But even that wasn't enough to get you full recognition. Somewhere in between a Northern Cyprus and Palestine. But things are changing. Strongly doubt the new U.S. administration will put half as much money and effort lobbying for you as the previous ones. Look out for political changes in France come April and in three days a very pro-Serbian presidential candidate may just take office.

Actually, Suriname recognized Kosova in July this year, but I'll take two recognitions a year considering that at least 110 UN countries recognize Kosova. Also Kosova and Northern Cyprus control their countries, Palestine doesn't. Israel is able to build where ever it wants in Palestine. Can Serbia or Southern Cyprus build or control what goes on in Kosova or Northern Cyprus? No they cannot. So yes, Palestine might have slightly more recognition than Kosova but it cannot exercise its authority like Kosova. Kosova is in a much better situation than Palestine.
Think like this. Northen Cyprus have been only recognized by ONE un state only and yet they managed to keep their independence free under 40 years.

Yeah, 40 years in isolation. Kosovo claims to have 113 recognitions, yet it's no closer to the UN than Northern Cyprus, and only half as prosperous. Another empty recognition to make a few people happy and give then some good news. You're no closer to the UN nor the EU. Same as Palestine, which has more recognitions and deserves statehood twice as much as you. Wake me when you get a recognition from Russia. Until then, you still need someone to sponsor you to speak in the Security Council.

It was over for them the day Kosovo declared independence.

If the announcement is coming from the province of Kosovo, then you simply cannot believe it. There have already been numerous so-called 'recognitions' that cannot be verified and usually have been implemented unilaterally from the province's 'government'. Many nations on their list have never accepted the declaration however have been placed as countries that have recognized. The problem is that many countries simply don't care and don't bother to verify whether they have been put on the list.

Yes he did announce this via his Twitter account but I get the feeling that you're reporting this as the source for recognition to undermine its reliability. What you could have done is stated that:
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore announced through their official website that they've established official diplomatic relations with Kosovo". This would have been a more reliable source than Twitter.

Trump wanted ground troops to act as peace keepers. If you look at his interview on Larry King, he says it's horrible what NATO is doing to Serbia and the damage they are causing. He felt that ground troops would have acted better as keeping the peace on both sides instead of picking to bomb on behalf of a terrorist organization such as the KLA.

You know it and we know it. so best if you care what Serbs think about it but not the indo-chinese city in the end of geography. Guess 50:50 is a good formula to divide the lands.

Most of the Western countries have recognized RK as an independent state right and thats enough fo RK to move ahead and prosper as a country. I do belive RK diplomata and most of polical cast are complete nubs that are full on corruption amd dont give a shit about their own country anymore. Anyway it wont matter much anymore how many new countries will recognize Republic of Kosava but what matters is WHEN Russia as a permanent member of the UN security council WILL accept the RK Independence. Many of my Serbian neighbours may say Nay that wont ever happen, We and russian are brother BUT there is no brotherhood in Diplomacy. It will take some time maybe a decade or two but at the END reason wins and USA with Russia will deal on this, usually with the normal type of diplocay "I give you this, you let me that"
At the end my Serbian brothers both you and us are just a monopoly game land when some big dudea throw the game darts.
All we can do is live the present and stop hating each-other for something that our compatriots have done to each others time or ages ago.

Negative GDP is a commonly used term. For example the ABC recently published a headline "Australia at risk of negative GDP after business investment fall".
Interesting comments but I don't think this will make any difference.
To make a difference from the EU perspective, you'll need all of the EU to recognise (Greece, Romania, Cyprus, Spain and Slovakia).
From the UN perspective, you'll need Russia and China. Anything else is mere decoration with not much significance.
Personally, the above is extremely unlikely so the status will remain in limbo. I doubt Kosovo will ever become a fully recognised state. Better for the politicians and people to move onto something more constructive. Normalisation negotiations seem to be producing results.
Actually, based on the current rate, to get to 130 it will take more than 15 years.

Quite true, in fact, Kosova became independent March 1999 when Serbia refused to sign onto the Rambouillet Peace accords. Consequently, Serbia suffered the humiliation of Humanitarian Bombing which resulted in turning it into a rump pariah entity.
With all due respect but I hope you are wrong about World War 3 commencing especially in the near future.I wonder if it's an issue that my hometown is approximately a 1 hour drive from the American border? (the town of Houlton which is located in the state of Maine.)
