First you need to change your milloshevic mentality toward your neighbors
(MIRKO, 6 October 2016 12:58)

No one expected him to win. It was clear from the start he would have obstacles on account of US foreign policy and it was actually surprising to see he got as far as he did, out-pacing Bokovina the presumed favorite, and even Lajcak the seasoned diplomat. But to suggest that Jeremic's loss is somehow attributed to some sort of "Milloshevic" policy, whatever that is, is idiotic considering, before anything else, that 16 years have passed since Milosevic ran the country and Jeremic was attending an American college at the time. Granted, portions of the internet comment section still think it's 1997 but the world has moved on, and Serbia's image, for better or for worse, has changed exponentially since whatever "milloshevic mentality" plagued it. If all you and others have is to be a broken record of the '90s, the mentality lies with you, not with Serbia.

Vuk is a class act.@ Observer aka willi pfaff...you previously wrote, "Nothing good ever came from Serbia." You use gross generalizations and promote hate. You have no credibility here. Go help Merkel with all of your migrants.

Well, the USA, the UK, France and Germany have got their lap dog... here's another round of manipulation at the UN...

Well done Vuk

Congratulations to Mr Jeremic for a great effort!
Much better then Croatia and Macedonia or stinking albania.

Hopefully Vuk will still be offered the role of deputy UNSG.
Its still good enough to give Serbia a strong influence in the world and to ensure that the K-albanian terrorists never achieve recognition or be rewarded for their crimes!

Serbs still dream about a greater Serbia
(observer, 6 October 2016 20:00)

As a poor observer you have missed the moment when Serbia first supported Vuk otherwise you would know that it happened only after he was supposed to be second after Guterres. Before that it was a matter of his personal career. His chances were not big from the very beginning because he was a Slav and an Otpor type US lapdog. So even Russia has not supported him. Anyways it has nothing to do with greater Serbia as only UNSC spokesman was on the stake.

those shoes where way too big for a man who has not learned a thing since the horrible Milosevic, the butcher of the Balkans, was in power. A serb politician can not become a leader of a world organisation for as long as Serbia hasn't acknowledged the serb crimes committed in the 90's, and does something to prevent it from happening again. Serbs still dream about a greater Serbia, still think they are victims, live in their brainwashed society, and are doomed if they don't change.

Congratulations to Antonio Guterres and even Portugal that he's been elected as the newest Secretary General of the U.N. For what it's worth Vuk Jeremic ,from I gather,is taking this in stride.

Vuk Jeremic did right by congratulating a Portuguese for being elected as the new U.N. Secretary General but most important is that he came to terms that he wasn't elected as the newest Secretary General as is not acting spoiled about it.

Thank you Vuk! He made Serbia very proud. He placed second among candidates from across the world for running the UN. Remember when this thing started, it was supposed to be someone from Eastern Europe heading the UN this time around. But certain power centers wanted a candidate they could easily control. But Vuk's performance proved he was not only light years ahead of every other candidate from the region and the Balkans in general, he was the most superior candidate in all of Eastern Europe. It took for yet another Western European candidate to beat him.

Serbia is proud. This year, Serbia made its mark athletically in the Olympics and politically at UNSECO and now with Vuk. Serbia now needs to step up economically which is starting to materialize as well http://www.b92.net/eng/news/business.php?yyyy=2016&mm=09&dd=27&nav_id=99321

With this, Serbia can affirm its place as the leader of the region!
