However, his trumpeting of Serbia's right to Kosovo around the globe and his performance as head of the General Assembly are to his credit. On balance then, I would prefer him to a non-Serb candidate, as there is a chance that he would keep the Kosovo issue alive
(John Bosnitch, 29 September 2016 08:54)

When a person becomes the UNSG, that person is supposed to act as UNSG, not as his/her country's foreign minister or ambassador to the UN. The fact that Vuk would do the latter (as you correctly pointed out) is precisely why he is unfit for the UNSG position.

I know Vuk Jeremic. I have reservations about his political education in leading schools of the Anglo-American empire. I also have reservations based on his performance in the Serbian government in ministries led by ex-President Tadic, for whom he worked as a chief advisor and perhaps even as the puppet-master of Tadic, who should go down (literally) in history as perhaps the worst Serbian head of state. He served Tadic during the destruction of the Serbian military, the disastrous privatizations of state industries and the absurd moves to yield to terrorist Albanian demands. In these senses, I would oppose Vuk's candidacy. However, his trumpeting of Serbia's right to Kosovo around the globe and his performance as head of the General Assembly are to his credit. On balance then, I would prefer him to a non-Serb candidate, as there is a chance that he would keep the Kosovo issue alive (which no one else would do), and that he might continue to politically re-program himself as he becomes more and more aware that the Anglo-American war empire is dissolving and he needs to reassess his alliances. He is intelligent and competent... his deeper allegiances are subject to reasonable doubt... his direct family ties to former "Muslim" Communist figures in Bosnia also cause concern, but due to my view that virtually every so-called (by the Austrian invaders) Bosniak is merely a Serbian Muslim, I would grudgingly support him.

Coherent English? You truly make me laugh out loud as if your English is articulate.

Yes, you need to learn it since you clearly are incapable of writing in it. And name calling when you've got nothing left? Classy. The icing on the cake is you believing you're not the ass in the conversation. You clearly take yourself way too seriously, like I wrote at first. Otherwise you would either have ignored me or come back with a better reply. At least one that made sense.

It's not biggie. As long as the US doesn't get another pro-western 'Yes Man' like (w)ban-ki Moon and Kofi Annan before him who got the job because he turned the UN 'key' for airstrikes in Bosnia when Boutros Boutros Ghali was on holiday. Jeremic will be offered some other high level UN job.

Smart Serb

As a proud Serb i couldn't give a damm if Jeremic is vetoed. I know he is the right man for the job but on the other hand Serbia has bigger fish to fry. Not focusing on one individual so he can parade around the world.
For the clown that speaks verbal diarrhea about people don't care for Serbs like air?
You care to breathe air don't you?
You're not the sharpest tool in the shed now are you? You make good comedy for Serbs.
Let this be the wake up call to Serbia that the U.S will NEVER be our ally. Stop pretending otherwise.

If only if Jeremic for whatever reason doesn't become the new U.N. secretary general that he and his supporters should realize that it ain't the end of the world and that life goes on.

Incidentally if I want to stay "tuned" for the results I figure my options are to regularly watch PIX 11 News ( broadcasts on WPIX-TV which is the CW affiliate of New York that is carried by my i.p.t.v. provider known as Bell Aliant) since New York City is the headquarters of U.N. or the other & better option is to search online.Just saying.

That means Jeremic must have really had success in thwarting plans by corrupt U.S. politicians in turning an occupation into a real state. Good job Jeremic for doing as well as you've done thus far without the backing of the strongest country in the world! You have proven yourself as undoubtedly the strongest candidate to come out of not just the Balkans, but all of Eastern Europe. And it's clear now that the only way you don't win is if Eastern Europe doesn't get its own candidate like it was supposed to, and that Portuguese gets it instead. Jeremic was the best and brightest the region had to offer. And we are happy he represents Serbia!

Stop taking yourself so seriously. The US doesn't give a sh!t about Albanians. Rather, they're annoyed Jeremic was a thorn in the side of their foreign policy. This has nothing to do with Albanians. This has to do with America's wounded pride, which most of us knew would be on display for the vote and almost certainly prevent Jeremic from being appointed.

It's just hilarious that his impending veto will be done purely out of selfish reasons and not because he's unqualified due to songs you don't like and a foreign policy your own side follows everytime minorities in Albania or Kosovo want greater rights and freedoms. Jeremic had nothing to do with politics in the 1990s. Get over your laughable melodrama.

First of all, stop assuming you know what I am based on my comment. I have come out and condemned Albanian authorities in Kosovo countless when they behaved like criminals, their top officials still do to a certain extent. However, I have done the same when Serbs have done it as well, and they still do as we speak.

Personally I would not allow any of you to ever even get close to UNGA leadership let alone UNSG. UN made a mistake with Jeremic back in 2012, and that she be a lesson for UN electing anyone from former Yugoslavia with the exception of Slovenia.

@Bekim from Novi Sad:

What exactly do you mean that the U.S. is vetoing Jeremic for doing his job?

Yes, you need to learn it since you clearly are incapable of writing in it. And name calling when you've got nothing left? Classy. The icing on the cake is you believing you're not the ass in the conversation. You clearly take yourself way too seriously, like I wrote at first. Otherwise you would either have ignored me or come back with a better reply. At least one that made sense.

When a person becomes the UNSG, that person is supposed to act as UNSG, not as his/her country's foreign minister or ambassador to the UN. The fact that Vuk would do the latter (as you correctly pointed out) is precisely why he is unfit for the UNSG position.
