You forgot to mention DM as a convicted war criminal. The Beograd court in Serbia stated that DM was indeed charged with not only murder of thousands of Serbs, Croats and Muslims but also charged with the highest act of treason a person could face. Such a pathetic soul where stupid fascist Serbs continue to drool over his idiotic ideology.
(HNO, 1 September 2016 12:39)

DM was charged by Tito. He was found guilty without a right of defense, but you Kroats have to make up your minds either you like the communists or hate them, not just when they suit your purpose.

I suggest that you stop listening to mother and father’s version of history and read up on what really occurred during WW2 and the Ustahi movement. The Pavelic Government committed some of the most horrendous crimes where even the Italians, who were on the same side, used to tip off Ustashi movements to Serbs because they were so disgusted with what went on. Your lot even sicked the Germans and that would take a lot considering all they did.
Pavelic was elected and committed those crimes while representing the people of Croatia.
“The rehabilitation of someone who attempted to wipe Croatia off the map by the Serbian Government”
You are truly not that bright. Are you? Mihaljovic fought against your Ustahi mate and it’s the Serbs that created Croatia otherwise do tell me how you managed to free yourselves from the Austrians? Up to 1958 the first language in Dalmatia was Italian.
You have a lot to learn lad.

In the best-case scenario, Juncker's response to Serbia's memorandum should be seen as a remarkably, amazingly crude lack of diplomatic finesse and a truly shocking specimen of historical, political, diplomatic, ethnic and political cluelessness. The no-see, no-hear, no-speak logic of Juncker, Merkel and Tuskel has hit the dead end. Clearly, this charade cannot and must not be allowed to go on.

In the worst-case scenario, Juncker's evasive and dodgy response represents a thinly veiled attempt to protect the nascent Holy Roman Empire narrative (the sequel), and its extremist right wing ideologues, typically found on the irrelevant fringes of the EuRoman continent (Croatia, the Baltics) that ostensibly act independently of Brussels and without its permission.

Alas, no one has been fooled by the EU's charming display of cunning cluelessness and "who, moi?!?" posturing: neither the Brits, who voted out of EU with their feet, nor the Americans, whom pro-curia government in Brussels wants to tax $15 billion, nor the Russians, nor the Chinese, nor the Turks, nor the Greeks, nor the Serbs. This, put simply, is EU's blatant attempt to again, for the umpteenth time, resurrect the ugly ghost of the Europe's past under a different name. The leaders of the European Union would be well advised to dust up the old videos of the Nuernberg Trials before they proceed with their horribly misguided and morbid project.

Because, again, no one has been fooled.

I am a Croat, but you will never hear me say anything positive about Pavelic or the Ustashi. They were a criminal organization that committed horrendous crimes in the name of "Croatia" but not representing the people of Croatia.

Mihajlovic may have started fighting against the Germans but quickly focused his attention on the Ustashi and Communists while actively trying to annex the majority of territory that makes up present day Croatia. The rehabilitation of someone who attempted to wipe Croatia off the map by the Serbian Government is more serious than some foolish comments made in private by a politician or a statue made of an anti-communist (even terrorist). I am not saying there was a lack of judgement by the Croats, but not to the point made by the Serbian Government.

@sj:

No, that's not the truth. Milanovic thought that people want radical nationalism, but instead, he made himself look like a fool. Young people don't fall for the propaganda, they are independent, and have their own opinion. Unfortunately, they boycott the elections, as they think there's no future in Croatia. It's sad, but true. Only 54% are participating in the national elections, many of which are nationalists or Communists.

Recently, I talked with many young persons from northern Croatia. They were sad and frustrated, and wanted to leave as soon as possible. They felt that their own country had betrayed them. They said that living in Croatia is like living in an alcoholist family.
This is sad, very sad, but what can you do. Croatia is a sinking ship. The old people don't know what young people want, and young people don't want to fight for the government. It's a bad situation. Within ten years, there will only be about 5000 Slavs left in Croatia, the rest will be Arabs, Gypsies and Africans.
So, as you see, the vast majority is not Ustasha, it's only that people have become apatic. They don't care about the situation anymore, because they are depressed, frustrated and sad.

Draza Mihailovic never fought Ustasha nor Germans. He was simply anicommunist, and that's why he was decorated by Truman. He was a leader of Chetniks (Greater Serbia anti-communists), the way Seselj, Vucic, Nikolic are now. Democracy is just an "invisibility cloak" to them.

Spoken like a true Croat. However you might read a little history before making a silly statement about Mihajlovic. Draza Mihajlovic fought against the Ustasha and Germans during WW2 and even US President Truman gave him a medal, albeit posthumously, but I have never heard the same with Ante Pavelic.
I do love how you Croats like to compare Mihajlovic with the Germans and “declaring yourselves to be on the western side during WW2” while at the same time denouncing communists such as Tito.
The truth is even sadder because during the early uprising against NDH the vast majority of partisans were local Serbs. It was only towards the end of WW2 that a huge influx of Croats when they saw they were losing.
When you are a candidate to run a country then you have to be even more careful what you say, in private or public. Milanovic made himself look like a fool, but what he revealed was more important. He clearly revealed that in order to win government he has to appeal to the vast majority who are Ustasha. The real issues in Croatia is the declining economy and massive migration of young and talented people who will never return.

Of the two examples given in this article, the Milanovic comments were private and while in bad taste are not official. I agree the Miro Barešić statue is controversial but is probably more anti-communist rather than Fascist (although Otpor had some ties to the Ustashi, they were separate organizations). I'm not sure if those two examples are enough to constitute the comments from FM Dacic. Croats should take more offense to the rehabilitation of Mihailovic than Serbs to the Miro Barešić statue and Milanovic's (private) comments. Politicians are exploiting non-issues for distract people from the real issues.

Philosophical no, limp-wristed yes. Avoiding embarrassment by disassociation and self-imposed silence which, quite frankly,is deafening.

DM was charged by Tito. He was found guilty without a right of defense, but you Kroats have to make up your minds either you like the communists or hate them, not just when they suit your purpose.
