Is that why the only wars you could win are when you're targeting unarmed Serb civilians but run in the opposite direction when faced with JNA? Serbia continues repeating its lies under the hope that if they're repeated enough they will become the truth.
Serbia is obviously attempting to play the victim by portraying all others around them as the villains.
Dacic's attempts to defend Vucic's sabre rattling are pathetic and dangerous.
To me it sounds as if Serbia is preparing for another conflict. We all know that the main aggressor in the last 4 wars in the Balkans was Serbia. This thanks to greater serbian ideology.
Let's hope that Vucic isn't suggesting he would intervene in Croatia (a sovereign country) under the premise of protecting serb rights (which are in no way threatened). He should rather consider protecting the rights of national minorities in his own country. Lord knows he has a lot of work to do in that field.
The logical question to ask is: Does Serbia really want to join the EU and what game are they actually playing, considering their military exercises with Russia? EU leaders should take a long hard look at this farce of a country before even considering membership.
Let's hope Serbia isn't preparing to leave another trail of blood and slaughter across the Balkans like it did last time.
Readers should take note that Serbia expelled 700 000 non-serb inhabitants from Croatia alone during the war in 1991. Yet they are quick to forget this when they claim that Croatia expelled 250 000 (pumped numbers) serbs (all with blood on their hands) from those same lands.

Maybe you've been hibernating the last year. Serbia has been kicking Croatia's ass diplomatically and in athletic competitions! Last year, Croatia closed borders to Serbia over the migrant crisis and within 24 hours did a beautiful u-turn when Serbia put economic sanctions on Croatian exports. It was such a beautiful capitulation. Then this year, you threatened to not let Serbia open up EU accession chapters (which I was really hoping you would stand firm on), and through EU pressure, you capitulated once again. Plus we kicked your ass in every competition at this years Olympics.

Ustasa and NDH no longer exist. I don't know why Serbs keep constantly referring to Croats as "Ustasha" ... Those existed in WW2, however in this day and age there is Croats & Republic of Croatia, not Ustasa & NDH. Trust me, it's true. I'm from Croatia, I know. Ask many Serbs who actually come to Croatia in the summers and they will tell you the same thing.

Croatia is not the heir to WW2 NDH or Ustasha, but serbian politicians and serbs insist that it is, trying to portray Croatia as some fascists country when it is clearly a democratic, capitalist country belonging to the EU with equal rights for all. yugoslavia was the heir was the heir to all the former WW2 nazi puppet governments in the Croatia, serbia, slovenia, etc. Since serbia like to consider themselves the heir to the former yugoslavia, then serbia is the heir to the NDH and Ustasha, as well the chetniks.

It was really Operation Flash that scared your beloved milosevic and made him realize he had to retreat and focus on Bosnia to solidfy remaining gains there and that's why milosevic gave the order for all Croatians of serbian ethnicity to leave Croatia. It wasn't the Croatian military that forced people out, the order came directly from belgrade for a couple of reasons to solidify remaining gains in Bosnia, to slow down Croatian troop advancement in Bosnia until milosevic could secure a deal, and also to use it against Croatia later and make it look like serbians were the victims and were forced out. I'm not saying milosevic was stupid, I'm saying he was evil and you know nothing. If you want to go further back in history we can get in to the scoring there too.

Here's a couple of Croatian heroes right off the bat. Your wrong about the "Krajina" serbs too. Croatia took in serb refugees during the ottoman invasion of serbia. Serbia folded quickly and the serb refugees who settled in the "Krajina" didn't hold out too long either. Some fought bravely, but the biggest and most heroic battles where Croatians stopped the ottomans cold were in Dalmatia and northern Croatia and Croatians, outnumbered and outgunned, fought to the death in Vienna and elsewhere to stop ottomans from moving in to western europe. It was Croatians pushing the ottomans out first that helped serbia do the same.

Yes, Croatians win on the battle field, but that's mostly because they are fighting on their own land, defending it and their way of life. Croatians have never been aggressors so I don't think at any time in history did Croatians ever like war and it shows by the fact of how much territory was negotiated away in exchange for peace. So it's not all about winning on the battle field, it's about being smart and coming to the negotiating table prepared, especially when you have the advantage on the ground. Croatia made some big mistakes over the centuries at the negotiating table, maybe for good cause, but wrong decisions nevertheless. serbia has obviously best at it, but it's usually with threats of more war. I think Croatians are more western european and have had enough with centuries of war, one after another, but when pushed to the extreme you want Croatia on your side.

You fail to mention the prematurely recognized countries of Croatia and Bosnia. International law was broken when these entities were recognized as well as the Yugoslav constitution. What if a good portion of the population of Texas had their mothers, fathers and grandparents savagely slaughtered 50 years earlier by the same people who wanted Texas independent? What if those who wanted to stay within the United States began getting fired from their jobs, their homes vandalized and many killed simply because of their ethnicity? What if Texas began renaming streets after past war criminals and invited concentration camp commanders back to their newly independent country? Please answer these questions Mr. King before spewing your Tudjman-fed propaganda.

You know full well NATO didn't do the fighting for Croatia or Bosnia. NATO wanted no part of it. NATO might have helped with some intel, but all troops were Croatian and Bosnian, and all weapons were either captured in battle from the serbs or bought on the black market at a cost of 100 times more compared to if there was no arms embargo. An arms embargo initiated and pushed by serb friends in the UN. serb friends within NATO leaked information to serbs, there was no unity in NATO to stop serb genocide in Bosnia or Croatia, and that's why Croatia had to do it on it's own. Oluja was an operation to stop genocide in Bihac after mladic committed genocide in Srebenica. Western powers gave Croatia the green light because NATO wasn't prepared to stop genocide in the heart of europe. Maybe you are confusing croatia with Kosovo which was 4 years later and NATO did help because of the atrocities being committed by milosevic and NATO learning from past experience of what milosevic was capable of. You cannot confuse what happened in Croatia with what happened in Kosovo.

If the USA shut down banks in Texas and stole people's entire life's savings, took away their rights, ambushed and killed policemen, carved out a big chunk of Texas and named it "Krajina", mobilized the national guard to threaten the people, and the president refused to relinquish control after his term was up, and no longer allowed free elections like Serbia did, I would say Texas has very legitimate reason to declare independence and I would think many countries would support it just like the did the USA when it declared independence from England. It wasn't the Croatian military that forced people out, the order came directly from belgrade for a couple of reasons to solidify remaining gains in Bosnia, to slow down Croatian troop advancement in Bosnia until milosevic could secure a deal, and also to use it against Croatia later and make it look like serbians were the victims and were forced out. I'm not saying milosevic was stupid, I'm saying he was evil and you know nothing. If you want to go further back in history we can get in to the scoring there too.

The reason the Turks couldn't break through the eastern border of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was because of the heroism of the Krajina Serbs who defended that border. When the Turks finally penetrated this Serbian frontline and reached Vienna, the Krajina Serbs attacked the Turkish rear and blocked their supply lines. My guess is that in still to be written Croat school text books the Krajina Serbs will be re-Christened as Croats. This process of Croatising Serbs is already very visible with Nikola Tesla. The Albanians are no different and call Skenderbeg one of their own.

Yes, Croatians win on the battle field, but that's mostly because they are fighting on their own land, defending it and their way of life. Croatians have never been aggressors so I don't think at any time in history did Croatians ever like war and it shows by the fact of how much territory was negotiated away in exchange for peace. So it's not all about winning on the battle field, it's about being smart and coming to the negotiating table prepared, especially when you have the advantage on the ground. Croatia made some big mistakes over the centuries at the negotiating table, maybe for good cause, but wrong decisions nevertheless. serbia has obviously best at it, but it's usually with threats of more war. I think Croatians are more western european and have had enough with centuries of war, one after another, but when pushed to the extreme you want Croatia on your side.

You know full well NATO didn't do the fighting for Croatia or Bosnia. NATO wanted no part of it. NATO might have helped with some intel, but all troops were Croatian and Bosnian, and all weapons were either captured in battle from the serbs or bought on the black market at a cost of 100 times more compared to if there was no arms embargo. An arms embargo initiated and pushed by serb friends in the UN. serb friends within NATO leaked information to serbs, there was no unity in NATO to stop serb genocide in Bosnia or Croatia, and that's why Croatia had to do it on it's own. Oluja was an operation to stop genocide in Bihac after mladic committed genocide in Srebenica. Western powers gave Croatia the green light because NATO wasn't prepared to stop genocide in the heart of europe. Maybe you are confusing croatia with Kosovo which was 4 years later and NATO did help because of the atrocities being committed by milosevic and NATO learning from past experience of what milosevic was capable of. You cannot confuse what happened in Croatia with what happened in Kosovo.

Elderly Serbs, women and children were fleeing on their tractors with the belongings they could carry and your mighty air force was strafing this column of new Serb refugees. Then in the aftermath, your brave troops went through the Serb inhabited areas and slit the throats of many of the elderly that were too sick to leave. Nearly 2,000 innocent civilians were killed. This is celebrated as the greatest military achievement in Croat history. Congratulations.

What if a good portion of the population of Texas had their mothers, fathers and grandparents savagely slaughtered 50 years earlier by the same people who wanted Texas independent? If there can be no union of southern slavs because of serb insistence to dominate and control it all, then it's best that everyone have their own independent country and just be good neighbors.

Here's a couple of Croatian heroes right off the bat. My namesake, King Tomislav, who saved the serbs from annihilation by the Bulgars in 920's AD or how about John of Palisna and his knights who died in your beloved battle of Kosovo trying to save the serbs from the ottomans. You either uneducated or ungrateful, I say both because now that I taught you something about how Croatia saved serbs, you're not thankful at all. Can you say the same of serbs saving Croatians?
Your wrong about the "Krajina" serbs too. Croatia took in serb refugees during the ottoman invasion of serbia. Serbia folded quickly and the serb refugees who settled in the "Krajina" didn't hold out too long either. Some fought bravely, but the biggest and most heroic battles where Croatians stopped the ottomans cold were in Dalmatia and northern Croatia and Croatians, outnumbered and outgunned, fought to the death in Vienna and elsewhere to stop ottomans from moving in to western europe. It was Croatians pushing the ottomans out first that helped serbia do the same.

Before any fighting broke out, Croats began arming themselves, preparing for war. Tudjman was elected president of the HDZ in 1991. Immediately, Serbs were fired from jobs, homes vandalized and Serbs killed. Croatia then declares independence breaking international law and the Yugoslav constitution. Overnight, Serbs find themselves in a hostile environment where the president publicly states that he is glad that his wife is neither a Serb nor a Jew. He renames streets after WWII war criminals and invites Dinko Sakic, commander of the Jasenovac death camp, back to Croatia. What would you have done tomo if you were a Serb? What if your parents or grandparents were killed at Jasenovac? Would you just go along with the program. There was no talk of a Greater Serbia. These people just wanted to live on the land that their families had lived on since the 1600s.

Croatia wanted war because they knew they had the backing of Germany and the US. So you got war. Please don't cry about Vukovar or the fact that Serbs control half of Bosnia now while Croats there are almost extinct. To be honest, I don't see the point of all these accusations being flung back and forth by the politicians on both sides. Despite isolated incidents by citizens on both sides, neither Croatia or Serbia are fascist states or in danger of becoming fascist. It's time for some real co-operation and compromise. Croatia should stop threatening to block Serbia's path to the EU while Serbia should make compromises to jurisdiction for prosecuting war crimes in the former Yugoslavia.

If the USA shut down banks in Texas and stole people's entire life's savings, took away their rights, ambushed and killed policemen, carved out a big chunk of Texas and named it "Krajina", mobilized the national guard to threaten the people, and the president refused to relinquish control after his term was up, and no longer allowed free elections like Serbia did, I would say Texas has very legitimate reason to declare independence and I would think many countries would support it just like the did the USA when it declared independence from England. Are you saying the USA had no right to freedom? Its the same thing.

tomo - You make no sense...as usual. Why would the Serbs be arming themselves long before 1991 as you say? According to you, Serbs held the power, right? Serbs weren't the ones illegally breaking away, were they? Your comments defy logic...as usual. Conversely, when Tudjman's HDZ came to power in Croatia, he renamed streets after Ustasha war criminals, said he was glad his wife was neither a Serb nor a Jew, denied the Serb and Jewish holocaust, invited Ustasha war criminals back to Croatia. Was this an environment where Serbs were supposed to feel comfortable? How would the world react to Angela Merkel if she reintroduced the swastika, invited war criminals back to Germany and renamed street after Goring and Himmler?
