I don't feel any 'complex' as you say about Islam or my family. Like most Albanians in Kosova, and I really mean Albanians here not quasi-Albanians like yourself, I bring my identity and language before any religion. In fact, I don't have a religion. My family were nominally muslim, but like most Albanian families in Kosova they can trace their roots to Christianity in the 6th or 7th generation. My family feels more affinity to the Catholic Church where they conduct mass in Albanian then to some dodgy imam who conducts his pray in Arabic and nobody has any clue what he's saying, most likely the imam doesn't even know what he's saying himself. But leaving my personal faith aside, i think you adn I would agree that what Kosova needs more is places of work, sports facilities, cultural workshops than bloody mosques or minarets who let's face it have no function in most societies these days.
Islam appeared on Volga river and was a version of the Orthodox Christianity. It split away in late 16 century during Suleiman the Magnificent aka Qanuni (Zakonnik) decades after the Catholics broke away. So what you say is just an emotion. Nowhere in this world you will find a mosque older than 1572 and the semi-moon was part of the cross on top of all old Russian churches.
Average thinking about Islam is based on two things - misinterpretation of history and using the radical Islam for US/British purposes. You know why the Brits supported the Wakhabis in early 20 century? Because they liked the Wakhabi ideology that divided the Muslims for good and bad. They insisted that one can rob and even kill the bad Muslims and it was exactly what the Brits were doing in their colonies.
Muslims and Christians pray to the same Almighty and mosques are same houses of the Lord as the Churches. So it was a bad idea for a Serb to behave that way. Whatever happens we should not copy the bad people who call themselves Muslims. Any mullah will allow a Muslim to pray in a church if there’s no mosque nearby and if the Christians do not mind. Why do you think the Catholics sit during praying while the Orthodox not? One of the reasons was because the Muslims too prayed here and they could pray different.
