There are ultra-nationalists in Croatia, and they are very loud. But they are only 2-3% of the population. Many Croats are angry with Serbs and Serbia, but they don't feel this sick hatred which is shown by the HSP supporters.
Dalmatia and Herzegovina are a special case. In this region, there are still many crazy nationalists. The same in Eastern Slavonia. Other regions, like Zagorje, Gorski Kotar, Western Slavonia, Posavina and Međimurje, are bourgeois oriented, whereas Istria and Rijeka are left-wing. There, people are not as nationalist as in Herzegovina, Dalmatia and Eastern Slavonia.
Croats in general are concerned about the economic situation, and are fed up with backward people. But instead of fighting for a better Croatia, they are leaving the country.
