The rebels have almost broken to siege of Aleppo. Regime forces have taken heavy losses.

Also, the Russian helicopter crash brings the Russian death toll to at least 17 killed in action.

marko : you can either view this as the battle for Leningrad or the battle of Berlin.

Sooner it is Stalingrad as the turning point of the war. Besides the city is same destroyed.

Looks like the Aleppo battle is to come to an end this month. It became possible after Turkey stopped to help An Nusra gangs and called back it multiple officers involved to the war in this region of Syria. Most of them were arrested after the coup. Victory near Aleppo may become decisive to the whole campaign. What is interesting on August 24 it will be 500 years since the decisive Dakib Field Battle near Aleppo when Sultan Selim I Yavuz (Grozny) defeated the Mamelukes of Sultan Kansava (khan Savva) and thus put an end to the Sultanat of Misr also known as Egyptian or Cairo Sultanate. Both armies were composed mostly of the Slavs and Caucasian Cherkess (Kabarda) Cossacks. It is strange that Balkan peoples know nothing about the great battle that formed their fate for centuries. Just because the territory of the Ottomans has doubled that day and included half Africa + Cyprus + Syria and part of Iraq. Looks like we are witnessing same kind radical changes in the ME region today. Because after Aleppo (Halebo) it will be Idlib Province’s turn where our officers were hit down, By the way yesterday all day and night through Russian planes bombed the territory where the helicopter was brought down. It must have harmed the Jihadis so their media changed their propaganda saying that the helicopter had fallen down because of technical problems but not after their missile …

I think this is going to be the bloodiest battle of the war. If my fears are true and, depending on your perspective, or what side you favor, you can either view this as the battle for Leningrad or the battle of Berlin. That is what it is going to be like for the residents of that town. If you pray, please pray for deliverance of the people of Aleppo from war and suffering
