Angry Ottoman

People of the Balkand are totally misguided so they believe in the BS they were imposed in the 19 century during Tanzimat :

1/ That Turks and the Ottomans were the same.

*** But you must know how deeply your alcoholic Ataturk hated the Ottomans.

2/ That Balkans were the colonies of the Ottomans.

*** But you must be aware that initially territory of Anatol was the colony of the Balkans. Things changed only in early 19 century when Balkan peoples were provoked for rebellions that brought them so much blood and disaster.

3/ That Istanbul/Stanbul means other than Stan Bulgar= Place of the Bulgars.

*** Name implemented after Russian Mehmet II Fatih seized Constantinople. He belonged to the mighty Tverskie kniazia/khans so they were known as the Osmans (SMN) in Russia i.e. Simeons (SMN) One of the two smaller crowns of the Russian court of arms means them.

4/ That the Ottomans were not Russians despite their R1a happlogroup.

*** find the list of the living Sultans and ask web for their happlogroup and write that you are an Angry Russian.

Ect.

So if you have questions about the history of Turkey feel free to ask. By the way what is your origin ? But please don't tell me that you are a Turk as this identity was imposed in 1928-1942 only. Who were your parents before 1928 I mean. Were they Cherkess, Russians, Armenians, Greeks ... ?

Turkey has always been a desperate attempt at a country. But Turkey's problem is that the roots of its identity are in Islam and its conquest of Christianity in the area. Christianity it the historical heritage of Turkey as a nation. And the Armenians were also a Christian nation until they were exterminated by the Turks and the Kurds. And now the Turks and Kurds fight over this territory.

As a part of it facade of nationhood, it tries on modernity, tries to become a modern Muslim nation. But Islam has locked itself out of a future. Islam is the key to the instability of Turkey. NATO has no natural interest in Turkey and neither does Russia. The Turks fight among themselves because they are afraid of each other, they are afraid of Islam, and for good reason. Look at all the Muslim nations falling one by one to the forces of resurgent Islam. And Turkey is immune? No, it is not.

What happened in Egypt is a better clue as to what is happening in Turkey.

Angry Albanian Ottoman,

One doesnt need anything a crystal ball to post his thoughts on the article. But looking at Erdogan's historical actions ie “Ergenekon,"Ghazi protests” or“sledgehammer”one instinctively knows of What this creature stands for.He is a con artist,a megalomaniac who still thinks he can resurrect the Ottoman empire. He has no doctrine other than his own enrichment and whatever it is he can use to exert power over the people - religion and hardening islam;Under his government, he and his cronies have thrived. The Turkish people have been doled the allusions of wealth that debt affords; He speaks to the ordinary person in such condescending, patronising tone as to assume they are utterly stupid; this is then confirmed by the same repeated in supposed 'respectful' (respectfully subservient) media. He is the only person who has attempted to solve the Kurdish problem by deception and to pass through his constitution for purposes of exploiting Iraqi Kurdistan oil and to focus on his real enemy Assad. The imminent fall of Aleppo to the Syrian Army is Tayip's biggest headache. If Aleppo goes, so does a big chunk of the $15 billion Qatar pays him to keep the pressure up on Assad. It seems to me that Erdogan has been sold out by the Obama Gang.Assad is winning his battles and I can see the US establishing an independent Kurdistan in the near future.
The Turkish helicopter personnel which asked for asylum in Greece, i think their request is being processed .

Your aggressive style echoes the style of your dictator. It might be good for turkey but it is a joke anywhere else.

Do you understand how ridiculous you are when you reject reality? Facts are not on your side. Your country is falling apart leaning towards civil war. The dictator wants to put to jail whoever doesnt appreciate living in an islamic, saudi-arabia-like state. Your country is turning into the laughing stock of the EU and the US.

Time to understand how low you are in the food chain and act accordingly.

@ Leonidas I urge you to stop speculating on Turkey and offer some tangible evidence for your daily claims here. It's not up to you to decide whether Turkey is a democratic country or not. Return to Turkey the eight coup officers as soon as possible and go tell your tales on human rights to your own leaders. As a reminder, it was Erdogan's Turkey the first and only country that offered unconditional support to Greece while dealing with its chronic financial crises. As a second reminder, the EU membership is just an option for Turkey one of the many options we have, given Erdogan's Turkey GDP growth rate. As a third and last reminder, read again this comment and make sure you understand what an angry Ottoman accused of staged coup means!

Yes "Russians are helping erdogan to stay in power" but in dog's position since now on. I won't be surprised much if Turkey abandons NATO soon to crystalize the nature of the West.

In the coup ninght I followed the events online and before I knew what we all know todai I told myself that a weakened Erdogun was the best choice for Russia. Just the way it was with Saakashvili once. So Russia is the biggest beneficiary in Turkey today.

I would not be surprised if the US was involved in the poorly planned and executed coup attempt. Their track record has been abysmal with notable failures throughout the Middle East.

Erdogan was seeking to improve relations with Russia and very recent announcement of closer relations with Assad would have privately angered the US. In this instance Russia must have known of the plot very early and warned Erdogan which may have given him time to prepare. Remember that Russia wants to drive a wedge in NATO.
However, this is all speculation at this stage.

Whoever publishes "news" like this, is not able to filter news from bad propaganda. Sorry b92
(skepticism,

I agree. The article misses the more likely truth there, that this seems a false-flag 'self-orchestrated coup' by Erdogan enabling him to destroy the last Turkish resistors to his absolute power, the judges & the military. This is re-enforced by the fact that the 'coup soldiers' closed the bridges & locked traffic, pushing people toward Taksim Square at midnight; hundreds of identical Turkish flags on sticks mysteriously appear; soldiers who claim they were told it was a drill & manoeuvres, not a'coup',surrender to 'people power'; & Turkey within hours conducts a nationwide purge of nearly 15000 enemies of Erdogan. The "attempted coup" was, very clearly. masterminded by Erdogan himself to give him the excuse to tighten his grip on power. It seems to be working exactly as planned.

Look at all the Muslim nations falling one by one to the forces of resurgent Islam. And Turkey is immune? No, it is not.

What happened in Egypt is a better clue as to what is happening in Turkey.
