Greek diplomat Alexandra Papadopoulou has been appointed the new head of the European Union rule of law mission in Kosovo (EULEX).

Alexandra is of Arvanite descent, the Albanians who migrated to Greece in the Middle Ages and helped the Greeks in the independence wars.

According to sources close to her she is very pro-Albanian because of her roots and has been a 'rebel' to the Greek Foreign Ministry in Brussels when it comes to Albanian affairs at the EU.

She was fired from the Greek MFA post in EU after she declined to vote against Albania. Now she has been appointed to Kosovo? Wow. Amazing really. Although EULEX chief does not have much say or importance like Samuel Zbogar did as EU ambassador she will be a good partner for Kosovo and her majority Albanian population.
