Once, Croatia and Serbia managed to reach an agreement. It was in 1939, when Vladko Maček and Dragiša Cvetković signed the s.c Maček-Cvetković agreement. If Maček wasn't thrown away, there would be no Jasenovac and no Ustaša. The Germans thought that Maček would rule Croatia under German command. He refused, and therefore, they gave Ustaša and Pavelić the power. If only Maček had not said "NO", then, it would have been much better.

I can't wait this beautiful reality built by the CE of B92 forums sj to become a... reality! Hopefully we will not have to wait for 500 years for such heavenly things to happen and Serbia becoming the master of the universe since Serbs are God's chosen :)

Nothing at all except to watch Croatia torn piece by piece until it no longer exists, and Serbia will be in a position to start doing just that in the not too distant future, but it will be done very slowly and remember its always the slow roast that tastes the best.

You were protected by Tito then the US but this time there will be no one to protect you and no one will care.

That's what I'm trying to say. We continue to give HDZ our vote because we think they are conservative. We need an Orbán in Croatia, that's our only hope. A social conservative and progressive patriotic party.

I am aware that Serbs have been attacked in Croatia, but you must know, an average Croat wouldn't do such a thing. Most probably, those were overnationalistic Croats from Dalmatia or Herzegovina, even called "Rvati", who are known for their aggressiveness. They live in all parts of Croatia today, so therefore, such incidents happen. They drink bear, wear crucifixes and red-white checkered shirts, and have BMW cars. They claim to be "veliki domoljubi", but are actually the worst criminals in the Croatian society. Average Croats feel contempt about them, but the Government, for some reason, pets with them.

They are like nationalistic Catholic Ukrainians, as you said.

We need a social conservative government, which can protect our borders, but also make good deals with other countries. We have to work for the future. We, the people, at least a majority amongst us, want job and welfare, and not primitive fascism and hatred. We need to work for the future.

HDZ is a fascist party with revisionist ideals. It might appear to Croats they are conservative but you do not have one. The closest you have to a semi decent party is with Milanovic, but even he cannot work freely since it’s impossible to override Croat mentality.

If you don’t want radical nationalism and bureaucracy why do you keep voting them in? People know who they are. They are not stupid.
I go back to 1962, when a Serbian woman decided to escape Yugo and join her husband in the US. She took a train from Belgrade to Zagreb and when she arrived went to a restaurant to buy something to eat. She asked for hleb (bread) and the waiter was a Serb who told her not to repeat that word aloud because she might disappear for ever. Other actual stories run along similar lines. This hatred was bred into Croats by the Catholic Church as their shock troops to spread Catholicism and it’s now ingrained very much like Catholic Ukrainians, in fact they are exactly like Croats.
I’m fine with Croats living in Voyvodina as it shows up fascists Croatia.
What you really need now is to work with Serbia to try and get back on your feet financially and boy do you guys become mellow when you need something. Here is the problem, it’s too late for everything.
Your young and talented have left, but its not the government to blame – Croatia is too small a pond to invest in. Serbs will never work with Croats again.

Still, it would be better if the Vojvodina Croats left Serbia, and joined their Croatian/Catholic Serbian brothers in the Republic called Croatia. Then, you wouldn't have to give them minority rights, and Vojvodina could finally be Serbified.

HDZ is not a extremist party, but a conservative party. At least it's supporters are. Real Ustasha parties in Croatia are HSP, which is supported by 1-2% of the entire population. Croats continue to vote on HDZ and SDP because there are no other alternatives. If there was a party like SNS, we would give them our votes, but unfortunately, there are no such parties in Croatia. We only have Zivi zid, which is a neo-liberal party, and that's not a good alternative.

The aggressive Ustashe monkeys are mostly young, uneducated men from Herzegovina and the inland of Dalmatia, and the majority of all Croats feel contempt about them. We want a social conservative and progressive patriotic government. Our leaders, however, think that we want radical nationalism and bureaucracy, but this only proves that they don't know their own people.

Unfortunately, you are right. Our politicians have done nothing for our country. We got independence, and since then, nothing has happened. People have been very creative and productive, but the politicians have discriminated productive and valuable people. Therefore, hundred thousands of Croats have left the country since 2013.

We don't want hatred and nationalism, we want progress and work.

At the height of the war Croats living in Vojvodina were not harassed, but Croats harassed Serbs at every step of the way and do it today. Where is this majority that does not support fascism? but HDZ and other far right winged parties get voted into power? The reality is when everything is going fine no one mentions the fascists, but now with debt and cut backs in budgets we hear how the majority are not fascists.
Croatia is 90% of GDP in debt and even the World Bank has stopped lending it money so now Zagreb pays higher rates to borrow direct from banks. You have to sell assets not to reduce debt, but just to fill in the gaping holes in annual budgets plus this tourist year looks like a failure so that will only add to the problem.
For a long, long time Croatians have been telling themselves they and Slovenia held up Yugoslavia, but that was never true. It was an urban myth as we see today. Croatia was funded by the EU; it was never able to stand on their own feet.
Croatia has also signed agreements to compensate Serbs it kicked out and that runs into the billions of Euros. Croatia does not have this money to do this.
Croatia is dead, it just does not know it.

Are you talking about a "Greater Serbia"?

What about the Croatian population? Will you exterminate us, or what?
(Matej Ivančić, 19 July 2016 11:34)

No Im not taking about a Greater Serbia. Its a debt Serbs owe the Croats. No exterminations necessary, we are not a genocidal race like the Croats.
BY the time its all over Croats will have wished they never lifted a finger against any Serb. We will systematically destroy Croatia.

We have already started by demeaning Croatia in front of Europe. Every time Croats were threatening to scuttle the EU talks Belgrade only said all this is a matter for Brussels and they did the dirty work on Zagreb.

My little friend the 250,000 you kicked out is not over by a long shot and there is much to fear when Serbs take on this mantra.

Matej Ivančić

We are demeaning ourselves, that's the biggest problem. We have a so called "conservative" government who has no idea about politics and diplomacy. We had allies, but HDZ and SDP made them our enemies, and therefore, we are ashamed of being Croats. Not because we don't like Croatia, but because our leaders destroy our country from inside. Unwittingly, they are doing you a great favour, and that's a thing to be ashamed of.

So, you don't have to destroy our country, we are already done with it. The 98% who aren't fascists want to cooperate with our neighbours, but unfortunately, we have a government who think that everybody is Ustasha. That's why YOU think we all are fascists.

You talked about Krajina. Well, I wouldn't mind of you told the Vojvodina Croats to move to Croatia. Croats, or "Catholic Serbs", need to be united, and to live in Croatia. We need a PM like Vucic, who will shave of the national debt, and who will improve the relations to our neighbours.

We don't want backward fascism in Croatia, we want progressive patriotism and social conservatism, like in Hungary and Poland.

Do you believe me when I say that the vast majority of the Croatian population isn't fascist?

The most interesting commentary was aired on HRTV Dnevnik yesterday morning. The reporter in Brussels was asked if the EU took on board Croatia’s requested amendments and the answer was simply NO. Not one of “their partners in the EU” would listen LOL.
Brvado is acceptable prior to an election, but to make a statement that Croatia would block the EU/Serbia talks if its requests were not taken on board was just putting their neck out and getting it chopped in public. It was humiliating to say the least. If there was doubt that Croatia has little say in the scheme of things most smart politicians would never put it to the test. Croatia did just that and now there is no doubt at all.
